Several people have stated that they got into homebrewing after watching Alton Brown's show Good Eats. In his Amber Waves episode he gives a quick and simple way to brew beer at home. It's the method I personally used for my first few batches as well. Here is the show if anyone who has not seen it would like to check it out.
